In grade 5 and 6 I made friends with another boy who I shared many common interests. We were aligned intellectually, artistically and we shared and developed our own sense of humour. It was exhilarating, we got on easily and we drew much pleasure making things together and inventing activities to involve ourselves in. We also lived really close to each other, only a short ride away. This increased our ability to see each other on our own steam, at whatever free moment we could find. I know now that friendship can be enriched by proximity. And so it follows that community is based around individuals with common goals and interests - but equally and vitally; the physical proximity between people can create and foster these deep connections. Being close, living close; I can't think of anything more important. It's like looking out into your own backyard and seeing everything that is important to you, everything that you love and that is meaningful to you and it's right there, reachable and attainable.

describes the weather. Hell, it's difficult. It's easier to take
photos of objects. People and the weather are both changable and
difficult things to photograph.
Given that, this photo somewhat describes this afternoon. At 3:54pm.
