Pleasure looking.
Watching the formation of these brick change daily, is a real
pleasure. I can't articulate it, but it's important, vital even.

From the notebook.
Today while riding a tram up Gertrude Street I saw a movie crew filming something. There were heaps of people milling around and there was lots of different types of equipment; lights, cameras and other assorted shit. I saw another film crew outside ACCA on Sunday. There were two actors wearing military outfits and carrying huge machine guns. I can't help but feel that the whole act of making a movie is absurd. This concerted effort to create a particular reality seems defunct, especially considering how our current reality is practically indecipherable from a movie anyway.
On my bike ride back from the city this afternoon, I rode past a huge apartment development construction site in Fitzroy - called 'the artist'. I noticed huge big plywood boards used as supports for concrete; I looked at the concrete and the boards. I thought to myself that if I collated together every single material I had ever used on an artwork it would only amount to the tiniest insignificant smidgen in comparison to the all the materials used to create 'the artist' apartment complex.
